Wood
Ready to race!
2 stories that go along with this.
1. About a month after I got my car I pulled up behind a white wrx with temp plates. The wrx was my second choice, chose gti because it seemed more adult. Immediately the driver started checking is rear view and side mirrors to get a better look, and I was already doing the same to him. Finally we made eye contact, gave each other a thumbs up, and when the light turned green commenced to having a little fun. Not really a direct compliment, but it's nice to see an awd guy appreciate the gti.
2. I live at an apartment complex that is pretty strict on working on your cars in the parking lot, doesn't mix well with the mod bug, I also live next to the maintenance building. Well one day I hit the bullet and did some work. Not 5 minutes in a maintenance guy walks over to me, first reaction is great I just got the car on jacks for nothing. He asks what I'm doing and then commences to complimenting my car. Had a good 10 minute conversation with him and the other employees. Also, turns out I ended up needing a big ass pair of channel locks at one point to move a hose clamp. Asked the guys in maintenance, they said no problem and if I bet need to borrow anything else to just ask. Now whenever I see them around the complex I always get a nod or a wave. Especially while driving.
