wait wait wait are you saying the TAOS gets a DSG in at least some trims but the TIGUAN gets DSG in NO TRIMS?
Yes.

More infuriating. The taos only gets the EA211 in every single trim.

I'd have paid extra for a EA888. Even the shitty tiguan version of it.

Taking this chance since you're online. I've already pulled the trigger on the 17z brake kit and I've been reading the ttrs mastery cylinder thread and I've come to the consensus that it's necessary to have a good brake pedal feel. Given that it's been years, have you made any changes to your setup?

I'll preface this with the fact that my 17z setup was on a 2007 A3 AWD, but it's mostly the same as a mkV GTI. I thought the brake feel overall was fine, definitely not un-driveable or anything. The only thing I really noticed was the pedal was a little bit lower to engage. It was fine for me for street driving, I never tracked or autocrossed with that car.

Had a buddy watch our dog while we were away this weekend... he and/or his daughters must've fed her all sorts of junk because I came home to a very nice mostly-liquid pile in our closet, and she's needed to go out every two hours since.

Impossible burgers for dinner last night, with homemade big mac sauce, LTO, cheese, and homemade buns. I was super skeptical, because I could swear the last time we got them they weren't very good. I don't know what changed, but this time around they were fantastic. Like, to the point that I wasn't bothered that it wasn't a traditional burger (and I love traditional burgers).

I'm willing to buy an automatic daily/weaksauce car so I can afford a manual Miata for AX/track things [maybe]. Which actually raises a question to the group/@jay745, how awful of an idea is an ND2 for track use, if it's not getting much in the way of power adders? Particularly TNIA, concern is that it might be a hazard with the relatively low speeds, we're planning on it being an autocross STR car first and foremost.

My buddies work truck is a 6.p gmc sierra with 200k. It died yesterday, he had a chamshaft position actuator code. Wouldnt start, he tried cranking it for a while.

Got it towed to my buddies shop. Replaced the actuator which was indeed toast but still wouldnt start. The mech goes to pull cyl 1 spark plug to inspect timing and found the spark plugs were all missing their electrodes! Incredible how it was running at all. We have never seen this before.

The big question i have is, how was it not throwing spark plug and wire codes all day long? How was it even driving? Far as they could tell there were no misfire codes. Truck was reportedly running ok.

They're loads of fun on a track. Don't worry about the power, if you learn to drive it you'll still be faster than many cars out there. All signs point to yes
