i wish i had the money and time and ability to just tear up all the grass in the backyard and do it all over bc holy shit is it bad

Depending on size of lawn it's not terribly expensive nor is it particularly difficult. Definitely time intensive though. I did a full kill and reseed on about 1K-1.5K sqft last year.

You'd also be surprised at how much better you can make a lawn just by buying 1 or 2 bottles of herbicide, a bag of preemergent, and a bag of fall fertilizer. Aaaaaand a bag of decent grass seed to put down after you use the herbicide, to fill in the space vacated by recently killed weeds.

Yeah get yourself a used seed spreader and a few bags of lawn care stuff and have at it.

I don’t mind cutting the grass but I have a zero turn so not too much work.

Bro I'm going to be at least 45 by the time I can buy a house - apparently back in the boomer days you were able to buy one in your 20's (by way of wages vs cost of houses)

I bought one in my 20’s but I had help from Obama and we had 2 incomes. I’d definitely wait for the rates to come down but buy as soon as you can IMO.

I've been waiting for rates to come down too. I want to refinance my car once I have about half my loan paid off. I'm almost there.

If they come down it won't be until the very end of the year. I don't expect much though. I bet they lower it like 1%. Not enough to really make a difference.

Another miserable evening...
Went to harbor freight at 4:30ish (95deg out)
Got carb cleaner + fresh gas + other things I needed
Started taking apart mower at 5:30, cleaned carb, put back together... no start
Went inside to chill... went back out, cleaned carb again (this time using wire on the jet and being very thorough)... As I'm putting it back together, I drop a bolt into the void of the mower (I had it tilted on its side)... I shake the piss out of it to get it out, causing a fuel spill in the process... and magically the bolt drops out... reassemble... no start... FUUUUCK, by now it's 8:30.
I go inside shower, then remember that a new sparkplug might be what I need... run over to Home depot at 9:15... grab a plug... no start still...
Pulling my hair out at this man... FFS!!!
Tomorrow I drive it 45 min north to the guy who sold it to me (he flips mowers and is a standup guy) to see if we can figure it out (lowkey hoping he might take the lemon mower in exchange for a working one...
