Sorry to hear about thatNot so csb......
Got a phone call last night. One of my friends and fellow electrician was in a work related accident yesterday and passed away.....
Don't have much details, but he was pulling some 15kv cable from a vault to an underground switch on Murray State University property when he made contact with the (supposed to be de-energized) switch that had 13.8kv on it.
With the amount of fatalities in this trade (especially the ones close to me) I am starting to think that a career change at 40 might not be that bad after all.......
With electrical experience, I would imagine you can pick up adjacent lines of work without too much issue, that might be a little less dangerous. How's residential electrical, in terms of safety? Lower voltage, (likely/hopefully) simpler wiring. Buddy of mine is a multicraft and has been looking at options for when he's a bit older, trades aren't easy.
