BTW, all I did was move the steering wheel... car was off and it did that.

That is 99% a dead or very low battery from the car sitting in the showroom unstarted for multiple weeks. Every car lot i've worked at the cars constantly needed jumpstarts. FTW Porsche 911's are a pain in the ass to jump start.

My mom used to have a Sebring prior to her Solara. The battery was in the wheel well and the first time my dad and I jumped it we fight realize there were terminals under the hood so we jacked up the car and took the wheel off

That car was an epic piece.

LOL I knew the intrepids had that wheel well battery feature, The days of early computer cad design for cars without actually thinking of working on them from a mechanics perspective.

Still do want a Turbo lebaron just for the hell of it!

I know a local car guy who owns about 5-7 LeBarons and other Chrysler k cars or whatever they're called for that generation. Such a weird "classic" car to want to collect

Just work your brain a lil. How many cars in 2003-2005 for under $23,000 could run a 0-60 in 5.2 seconds, 1/4 mile in 13.7 absolutely bone stock NEW?

Agreed!

I almost bought a '05 SRT-4 (new) back in the day, but I couldn't dump my Dakota that I had.

Won't ever happen, but I still would love a nice/clean/unmolested SRT-4 if I could find one.

The short lived Caliber SRT-4 on the other hand, not bad, but I still like the original SRT-4 way better

The Caliber is OK. I see some kids around town who make them look OK, slamming it to the ground and whatnot. This one kid actually plastidipped the entire car silver and it looked cool.
But the neon in my eyes is the true SRT4 due to the higher performance numbers it offered despite less HP on paper, and it sounds like one mean mofo. I had so many people that would tell me to give it a rev when I was just driving around town and people saw me on the streets or coming out of stores.
Was so much fun. But yes, to find an unmolested one these days is probably near impossible. Also, if you find one that you think looks stock, it's most likely been put back to stockish when in reality, it's probably seen more track life than you could imagine. My buddy did that with his white one. He even had a new cluster he threw in it to dial back the miles a few and his car was realistically worth around 8k at the time, and he made 12k when he sold it to an uninformed father.

Wow changing the cluster to fraud the miles. That's pretty shitty.

It is shitty. I don't condone anyone to to do that. You wouldn't like it and neither would I. But that doesn't change the fact that there are a$$holes out that that do that. :mad0259:

The gremlins were a dead battery. For sure.

Fellow GTI driver was hooning the piss out of his wife's new Dart this weekend at the autocross. He was really good. Made the thing look fun (though his comments about it said otherwise). Sounded pretty good though, to be honest. You can hear the diverter valve whistle. I was surprised Chrysler let it out the door like that, but kudos to them for knowing the sound of the future ICE.

Exhausts on those cars sound crazy.

Down side was that it was still a Neon underneath though.

No cruise control & the manual rear windows (though the fronts were power, lol) made it like an econobox....which it essentially was though.

I seriously do love them, just saying, two little things to nit pick about

Yes, but honestly, I owned the car for 3 years, gave rides and whatnot inside, and the manual rear windows was NEVER an issue. Odd, or just lucky?
Cruise control was also nothing I cared about. Honestly, the only issue I think I had with the car after coming from a 2000 Toyota Celica was the Daytime Running Lights. I was so used to that, but oh well. It was a sacrifice I honestly did not care about losing after stepping into the srt4. It put plenty of ear to ear smiles on my face :D
