DSG Shudder

Hello all,

I've had my '10 GTI for a few months now. It has 39,500 on it and I'm going to be doing he 40k DSG service myself here in a week or so. Recently I have been noticing a shudder from my transmission when coming to a rolling stop of beginning to move from a stop. Right now it's not that bad but bad enough for my girlfriend and myself to notice. After doing a little research I found a post on a different website saying that people were taking their cars in to the dealership and getting the clutch packs and flywheel replaced. They said that it fixed the problem.

Seeing as my car is a 2010 and its now 2015, that 60 month/60,000 mile warranty is expired. My question is, is it possible that maybe the 40k service will fix the problem? What kind of cost am I looking at for the clutch packs and flywheel to be replaced? And is it something that I can let be for awhile due to the fact that I don't have a grand laying around?

Thanks for any response,

Kuey

Best bet is to have it checked out by a dealer. They'll probably update the software on your DSG box and it could (hopefully) make a difference. If not, they'll be able to at least tell you what's wrong.

But do yourself a favour and have it checked out ASAP. Don't let it get worse.

Thanks for the replies.

Im stopping by the dealership tomorrow for a different reason. I noticed the other day when I was at a gas station that one of my lug studs on my front left wheel was completely gone. Called the dealership and the guy said he has some laying around that he can put on for free. Ill ask him about the transmission then.
