take the wire which is plug to your hand brake...put a switch on it and plug it on any ground...It was the way to do with all the aftermarket head unit...I'm pretty sure it's the same here...

press i (top right)
press tone
drive

set volume before you drive. if you change the volume, heating controls, etc that display on the screen it will go back to a black screen. just stop and repeat to reset.

Unfortunately, the North American RNS510 navigation unit does not have the 'i' or tone buttons.
