Features/Functions you don't like on the MK6

The mk6 are packed with features and functions. There are gonna be some that you don't like

I'll start

I don't like how the rear wiper automatically cleans the rear window when I go in reverse with the front wipers on. It's a good feature but I personally don't use the rear wipers because the rear collects a lot of dust and dirt on the road.

I am not aware of any car that does not shut off the radio when you shut off the car.

They shoulda used the fogs for drl's.

2001 A4 shuts radio off when removing key from ignition. <-- wrong

2007 BMW 335i shuts radio off when you lock the car.


Edit: Let me correct myself... the 2001 A4 works the same way -- radio turns off with ignition.

I just noticed another minor thing
The honk seem to have a preset time on it
for example: i press the honk for a split second and the honk will go on for 1 sec.

It requires a very light tap to just tap the horn. it is a bit annoying.

I also found this out when the guy in front of me didn't notice a green left turn light... and then BLARED the horn (by accident). I don't think the cop who happened to be sitting at the cross street was too happy with me.

What really bugs me is that the Xenon DRLs "flash" on for a second when you first turn the car on, then turn back off until you release the parking brake. Way to burn out my ballasts quicker, VW!

I hate that I cannot get my Ipod's Bluetooth to work. Tried 3 different Ipods and it won't sync up.

Maybe all that touch screen goodness draws so much power it can't run on the battery alone. :iono:

The radio can be turned on again by pressing the radio turn on/off button after shutting off the engine and/or pulling out the key

I hate that I cannot get my Ipod's Bluetooth to work. Tried 3 different Ipods and it won't sync up.

Try turning on the bluetooth on your iPods before starting the engine. Then on the screen select the VW and press the pair code (0000) when it ask for the code.

I hate that I can't get any freakin' LED lights to work for my license plates without throwing a damn "check lights" warning.

I have to stop now --- it gets my Irish blood boiling and I don't want to say a bad word!

I wish the buttons on the key fob were more tactile-ly identifiable. I have to look at the fob to see which button to push.

I wish the climate control was a true climate control, which would turn on the A/C compressor and adjust the fan speed without my input. I also don't like the vent-selector knob on the A/C.
