Wow, are these really going for that kind of money? I just bought one but maybe I should sell it.

Dealers are selling them for 24 k plus without timing belt water pump or clutch done. And I do plan on driving it forever! Unless I get the asking price. I bet this car will be worth more than my asking price 1 year from today.. right now it’s about 3 k over but I have over 6 k of work put into it recently. I have all receipts and records too. Hb dealer sent me a personal letter offering 3 over kbb if I trade mine in there.

Good news for me. The one I bought last week had clutch, water pump, timing belt, brakes, wheel bearings, tires, alignment done and came with Neuspeed intake and full suite of switchable APR tunes. Paid 18.

No, they're not going for what he's asking unless it's got stupid crazy low miles (think brand new basically)

He claimed in his other thread that he had a full cash offer of his asking price for $23900 but he turned it down and would "drive it forever" instead

But then he deleted that old thread and created this one by asking $3400 more than he was previously asking (which was already high)

IF he did have some good offer(s), he'd be a fool not to take them. The MK6 isn't going to appreciate anymore.

Doesn't hurt to dream I suppose, but I don't understand the point of driving around with a For Sale sign around in your car all the time.
You either love/want the car or you don't

GLWS OP though, as I'm just replying to GIACUser's comment here

After I recently received this cash offer that I turned down I did delete this thread. Then I saw the value of my car going up as I watch daily on CarGurus. I can post a pic of the dealer offering me 3000 over if don’t believe me.
I don’t understand why u are trying to talk down on the value of the rare Golf R they only made 5000 of these and it’s not a normally Gti so it always holds its value. Like I mention earlier dealers are selling them for 23 plus with similar miles to mine not brand new low miles ones look online at the clean ones. Cars are going up and up and there holding there value isn’t of going down in price ..
I don’t mind keeping the car I actually thank u for being a joksta and talking down on me on my thread because I know that ur just a hater.. lol. Now I get to drive the car longer cause of you and ur bs theory that I wrong about cars going up in value ..

i like to keep the car forever to be honest but Money talks so if i get 27k I’ll let it go.. if not I’ll dream and drive my clean ass Golf R until the end of time..

There's the problem with your comparison....dealers are overpriced & typically ~$2-3k over private party value

So, again, good luck with your $27k private party sale

I understand that dealer price is more than private party. Dealers are selling their car stock and most of the time the water pump timing belt and clutch haven’t even been done. Yes u can say that me and the dealers overcharge but that’s ur opinion. I believe that if the dealer is selling the same car as me with less stuff done to it maintenance and performance wise than mine is more valuable weather I’m selling it or a dealer is selling it it’s the same car at the end of the day. Thanks for input. I’m surprised that U didn’t ask to see the letter that the dealer sent me. There is a shortage of cars at the moment. Golf R are rare cars on top of that..
