Firmware/software/map updates RNS-510

Ready to race!
When updates come out for the rns, do people have to update DIY? Can they just have the dealership do it at the next service time? If so, will they do it for free?


Perhaps I should ask this at the mkv forums, but maybe someone here knows

Be careful when browsing vwnavi.com not to download the European firmware. VW Dealers will upgrade the RNS 510 firmware if there is a service bulletin for the upgrade when you take the vehicle for service. Currently there is none.

I will say your first step is to determine what firmware version is currently installed in your unit. Test a 4GB SDHC card.
