Hi guys
Just wanted some confirmation on whether the mechatronic unit on my Golf 6 GTI (10 years old, 120000km) needs replacing.
Whilst driving this weekend, the check engine light came on and the gears weren't changing.
The indicator in the dash which tells you what gear you're in was gone (i.e. blank).
I stopped the car and restarted and it seemed fine. A few kilometres down the road and the same thing happened. On restart it seemed fine again, though i suspect there's a serious issue somewhere.
