Golf TDI auto Suddering on left corners

Hi Guys - hopefully this is the right page but not sure of the cause ..

Got a golf Mk6 Tdi AUTO - and had for a few months some Shuddering shaking when doing a gentle sweeping LEFT only bend - 1st was only on motorways long sweeping left at higher speeds but getting worst now can feel country lanes at 40-50 - shakes in steering wheel, and whole car shakes like wheel is loose or something (cannot feel in the brakes , and happens when driving not braking - only left turn and fine as soon as come out of the corner , straight and left is perfect, and it doesnt happen on all lefts and not every time but most times now... getting worst -
I have taken couple garages who had a quick look but didnt find anything but dont think they spent much time investigating - Just before i bought the car the gearbox was removed and rebuilt so I guess could have something to do with that but feels more like a steering /suspension issue to me - and i dont think it did it when first used the car after
Does anyone have any suggestions - i have been searching the internet and come up with possibles
Last garage said take it to a Auto gearbox specialist But how would a Auto box cause this ? - isnt it more lightly to be bushes worn or suspension parts ??

control arm and Bushes
tyres (all 4 replaced)
Brakes and brake discs (but no vibration in brakes)
Other suspension Bushes
Shocks (look original but not leaking and has perfect bounce if test)
Engine mounts (but only shudders left hand turn ????? )
track rod or tie rod ends (tracking was done with tyres)
wheel bearings ? (no play or noise)
CV joints or loose drive shaft (one garage said they looked ok)

So any suggestions or anyone had this issue before - Thanks for the help
if can narrow down the best gues i can change those parts maybe

Driveshaft was my first thought. From a stop with the windows down and radio off let it roll forward and turn the wheel all the way to the left, then do the same to the right. Any clicking or popping or noise? I would not start replacing parts without narrowing it down a bit.

I would be surprised if a bad bushing would only present in a left turn. My guess is CV or maybe steering rack issue.

FYI Not sure about the UK, but over here I do not believe they put the slushbox Auto in the TDI's, they all had the DSG gearbox. Still think it's more in the steering than a transmission issue but just wanted to verify.

Thanks for reply and help Thumper
I will try to tomorrow Thanks for that - yes has a DSG gearbox -thats was removed , rebuilt and replaced then had a oil leak from top and they added a extra seal on top somewhere - as mentioned one garage did have a look and he said checked briefly the drive shafts as maybe they didnt replace all way or something after gearbox removal and replaced ? But he said he things they felt solid and ok -

only reason I mention control arms is a extensive google that was the cause for other makes and models but of course thats only 1 possible ?

Ok. Well if there's no visible damages (per your mechanic) to the axles, and no play with no noise when turning full lock........it seems to rule out axles. I guess I would go over the RT side suspension closely, look at the bushings and sway bar end links.

Hey - thought you might be interested , just got back from another mechanic - who said did really good look and test drive - the only thing he found that said Maybe was one drive shaft was tight - he said there should be some play in it forget the word he used but basically as i understood some slight movement so and he said one of them was super tight and didnt have movement so maybe was the cause but he couldnt confirm - so he also said to change it would not be expensive just 1hr labour and a new driveshaft but leave it for now and see if gets worst ..

Did he tell you which side he thought was tight? My guess is the right side and just curious. I don't know if I would wait and see if something causing shaking and shuddering while turning "got worse" LOL but since it's still not a 100% diagnosis it is an option.

Hey - he did mention but i cant remember - it might have been the right side i will phone him and ask if i remember . i did sorta say how much and can i book it in but he mentioned couple times might not be the cause so leave it a bit - you think it could cause more damage or something if left - i only drive like 5miles to and from work daily - and past his shop also ..
