Good for you,I received an email yesterday with them wanting more information on my claim.Received a complete reimbursement today (parts + labor) in the mail from Volkswagen of America for the intake manifold repair of my mk6 at an independent shop. Very satisfied with the outcome and glad I am in another GTI, there's no other car I'd want.
Look at it like a hostage negotiation... Just give them want they want man!! Manifolds don't have to diiiiiieeeeGood for you,I received an email yesterday with them wanting more information on my claim.
Wait wtf... when did they do that and which vehicles were included? You can try to submit a claim and get reimbursed but I don't think many people have luck with self repair claims. I tried when they did a recall for the ABS module but receipts for parts I bought wasn't enough for them and it was denied. Would probably work if a shop did it.

They did it in Sept,Lady I am speaking with says"they are honoring warranty in a case by case basis" even people that had repaired by third party or themselves are eligible for warranty coverage.Wait wtf... when did they do that and which vehicles were included?
VW honored my extended warranty and replaced the manifold even with a stage 1 tune, they called me and said it was flagged in the system as TD1 or something like that for having an ecu tune, but I didn't have any other mods at the time other than the tune and said I bought it used and had no idea it was tuned and they were cool with that explanation and did the work free of charge.I just got the P2015 code on Friday. Strangely enough right after I did a stage 1 Cobb tune. I have a 2012 gti with only an ECS intake. Anyone know if a dealer will honor the extended warranty on the intake manifold if I have an air intake installed? Located in the Los Angeles area. If I can’t get it done at the dealer anyone know a good VW auto repair shop in the SoCal area? Thanks in advanced.
Update: I included a YouTube link of what my car sounds like on cold starts only. Does it really sound like a bad intake manifold? Or could it be something else ? P2015 cold start
