Well, hello...

Looks like a GTI will be following me home next month. I test drove one last Thursday - lots of grins. :) 2010, DSG, Candy White. Thinking of maybe one of the grays, though undecided...

Chaplins has a few in stock now. Saw a gray 2 door cruising through Redmond yesterday, too.

Let the shopping begin! :D

I had a bad experience with Chaplins, they are ignorant in the sense that they do not know when they are getting cars. They told me they will get their first car in February, and that I cannot place an order for one of the spec that I like. Also, when they got their fist car (in October) they would not let me test drive it because the salesman knew that I wanted a white car.

Take a look at University Volkswagen.
I know they have 3 or 4 gray GTIs, and there is a 2dr DSG Candy White, with everything, except the audio coming soon. I know because I ordered that car, but they accidentally ordered 2, and I got the one that came first.

Thanks for the feedback Alex. I do plan to check out University... but will say that thus far, Chaplins has taken great care of me. My salesperson has been attentive, listens well and has managed to dig up the info I've requested on the TDI. ;) The GTI isn't nearly as hard to nail a copy of, but we'll see how that holds up, as I'm after a specific spec...

1 - gray, maybe white
2 - dsg
3 - Detroits or black khartoums (if white car, then black khartoums. ;) )
4 - xenons
5 - fabric interior
6 - 4 door
7 - stock radio is fine for me
8 - skip nav, too

I suspect most that that will be easy enough to come by, but... given they (any dealer) will want to sell what's on their lot, we'll see... ;)

I was told that while they couldn't move much on price on the TDIs, they could move a bit on the GTI's as there is more margin and supply/demand is very different for the GTI, than for the TDI models.

Guess I'll take a run over to University this weekend to check stock and start the pricing dance... then again, I could make it easy on myself and go through the Costco auto program and see if anyone around wants the business.

Getting exactly what you want is unlikely in the near future, considering how few GTIs there are in the area. I am noticing that dealerships usually get either fully loaded cars or ones with the least options possible. For example, it will be unusual to come across a DSG and cloth seats.

For example, it will be unusual to come across a DSG and cloth seats.

If Chaplins would swap the black khartoums onto the white four-door I drove (with DSG), it'd almost be just the car for me... just missing the Xenons... which is not, IMO, optional. ;)

Bottom line, given it's my almost $30,000 dollars, you can damn well bet I'm not going to "settle" for something less. ;) I'd happily take more for the same money, mind you.

I could always go grab a 2010 Camaro SS as well (also on my list of potentials), those I know the dealers have. ;)

...but then, it's about time I had another GTI... my first was a 1984, followed by an '84 GLI... methinks it's time for another GTI, though... :D

I hope you can find something that you like. What ever options you get, its a great car. I hope you can find one soon.

I have only seen one white 2010 Golf on the road in Bellevue, no fellow GTIs yet.
