Never installed on a gti but where you gonna put that? You know your gonna have to drill holes to get it into your car... or how were you planning on routing the wiring from the camera all the way to the head unit?

I installed on on a work van but it was a work van so drilling a hole above the license plate and having wires run from the back to the front open(aka no hidden for cosmetics) to over the dash to the head unit... its not super pretty but it works. i thought about how much of a nightmare it would be to do to the GTI.

I wasn't really planning anything yet lol just wanted to see if anyone has done before and how they did it. But I completely agree when I first thought about it it seemed like a noghtmare

I have done it with OEM, Routing it wasn't bad. In fact, I took off the entire driver side panels on the floor, and rear panel, hatch, before deciding id rather route it on the passenger side. It was plug and play though i didn't have to drill the body or anything.

If you have plastic pry tools and go slow and carefully its doable, I saw a writeup where someone flush mounted one above license plate, Yours looks like you would drill 3 small holes at most.

That would be the way to go with OEM but he is buying a ~$60 kit not a few hundred for oem.

Yeppp OEM is usually the best for things like that they just cost so much money :[

I really want Cherry Red LED tails (without rear fog) and none of the reps make them without the fogs, they have the dark cherry etc but i want the regular bright cherry red.

Yeah dark cherry should be fine on pretty much anything. In just my taste i like how the bright cherry red pops against candy white.

Cherry Red on Left Dark Cherry On Right

Cherry Red Just Pops on Candy White imo.

I really love that Cady White color, but you're right the cherry red looks really good on it

Hey guys I'm about to order this head unit http://www.eonon.com/Android-Car-GPS/Vehicle-Specific-GPS/GA6153W.html and it comes with a backup camera http://www.eonon.com/Car-Video/Cameras/A0119.html

Was wondering if anyone has installed this backup camera before? If so what DIY did you follow or what steps did you take? Thanks in advance

I just got this unit/backup cam and I'm wondering the same thing. Would love to know how to get wiring from the bumper into the trunk....after that, I can figure out routing inside the car easily.

Coat the wires, run them under the carriage on the passenger side. Under the passenger floor is a rubber grommet you can run them through. Pop of the the plastics on the foot space and run it like you would sub cables to the head unit.
