Im getting close to my 36K too, how much did the dealership charge for the cleaning?

labor to remove the intake manifold was warrantied, at that point it cost me $220 for the carbon cleaning from VW.

As far as your clutch setup is concerned, are you running the southbend stage 2 kit with a stage 3 drop in?

Currently running OEM DMFW with South Bend Stage 3 drop in disk.

catch can went on at 5K miles, carbon cleaning was right before 40K miles.
