WHO BROUGHT UP THE CAMRY IN RESPONSE TO MY GTI/MUSTANG COMPARISON???

What part of THIS argument was I wrong about?

The GTI performs better than the Camry - FACT (proven with actual figures)
The Camry is QUICKER in the 1/4 mile - FACT (proven with actual figures)

The GTI has more cargo room than the Camry - FACT (proven with actual figures)

The Camry has more passenger room than the GTI - FACT (proven with actual figures)

The GTI is less expensive than the Camry - FACT (proven with actual figures)

The GTI costs less annually in fuel - FACT (proven with actual/consistent figures and not national averages)

The GTI costs less to maintain - FACT (proven with actual figures and not averages)

The GTI costs less to insure - FACT (proven with concrete figures and not national averages)

What AREN'T you seeing here? Help me help you?:)

There is NO winner or loser in an argument of conflicting ideas. Him THINKING there is a winner/loser means that arguments are futile.

Right and Wrong do NOT correlate with Winning and Losing...

He is WRONG on 6 accounts.
He is RIGHT on 1 account.

That has NOTHING to do with winning or losing...:confused:

I didn't even start the discussion. I never even mentioned the Camry but when HE did, I corrected his misstatements. DONE. Or should have been...

I am keeping proverbial score to help him see the error of his ways.

I can't believe how negative this board gets sometimes, and this seems like a really low point.

It's important that people disagree. It's also great that you've both tried to qualify your arguments with data. That said, you guys have both put really dug deep in an absurd argument, and it is shitty to make personal attacks because you don't like the way people choose to present their case.

The criteria you're both debating aren't terribly useful if they don't describe the choices people are making. Does anyone know anybody who was *really* choosing between a GTI and a V6 Camry? No, right? You're arguing just to argue. Who gives a shit if you're being objective if the argument is meaningless?

Replace the GTI with a Passat V6 (0-60 in 6.1; 14.6 in the 1/4), and there is a useful discussion--just maybe not on a Mustang thread on a Mk6 board.

This isn't pleasant to read and it is too common.

Please, for the sake of us low-rung forum readers, please get back to debating the Mustang GT vs. our baby-peen turbo'ed cars.

Oh...I 100% understand. I'm not retarded, but I just dont think our main goal on this forum is to be 100% right or 100% wrong all the time and then keep count of how many times a user was right or wrong. That's not how we roll here.

2 things;

1 - I didn't bring up the Camry so the 'troll' did JUST to start an argument. Then cried foul when he got one and was wrong.

2 - From Motor Trend;
Passat 3.6 - 5.7 to 60 and 14.2 in the 1/4 mile...

Are some people here forgetting the fact that the Mustangs typically run a 5L engine where as the GTI is only a 2.0L!!! Having said that which car has the better grip around corners and won't burn a hole in your pocket on fuel!!! Yeah, fuel may be cheap but not in most corners of the world!!!

I just returned after 6 months in overseas in a country where fuel is cheap and believe me I love Mustangs but when you see a GTI lined up in traffic in your side view mirrors amongst others, IT STANDS OUT!!! Especially with the Bi Xenons. (And yes they have Mustangs, Chargers, Porsches, etc... there)

When I sat in my R-Line after 6 months it was like HEAVEN! The quality, the power, the grip and the features... Camry??? Come on, are you serious??? Look at the appearance for starters! Then let's talk about performance and handling!

I think I speak for all true Golf die hard owners... :happyanim: I rest my case!

I was running out of ways to help make the truth more clear...

For that I apologize. It is NEVER my intent to start arguments. I hope you can at least see that I RARELY (never but I will give myself a pass) instigate an argument.

He posted NON-TOPICAL content merely in an effort to get a rise out of me and I called him on SOME inaccuracies in the that content. He then cried foul and got butt hurt because I did exactly what he expected me to...:confused:
