I recently bought a 2011 VW Golf 1.6 TDI manual. i was driving in 3 gear at 40km/h and slowed down and took a right hand turn into a empty driveway to turn around. I intended to press the clutch and put the car into reverse and engage the clutch when i've slowed down enough but when I actually pressed the clutch to the floor and and put the car into reverse it went straight into gear and i heard a screeching sound from the gearbox even though i was on the clutch. A few seconds later a burnt smell came from the AC and it's been almost 16 hours since this happened. The car drives perfectly fine but this burnt smell is still coming from the AC. Any ideas what might be wrong? is this smell going to leave eventually?
