Just got rear ended

Well I just got rear ended by some idiot in my class. It's not too bad I believe. Pretty sure no loss of paint but a couple dents and my plate dented, but not sure if there's anything under the plate. He drives a 91 civic and his plate screws left a dent in the bumper. Need some advice, not sure how to tell my dad. I'll try and take pics later. It'll be like 4 hours till I'm out of class.

UPDATE
today (5/12/13) I noticed that my rear drivers side door is not aligned with the body of the car. I will take it in tomorrow to get it looked at, and get a re-estimate. And I took some pictures.

you got rear ended. It's not your fault not even if you slammed on your brakes. he was following to closely. Get your classmate's insurance to pay for it in full.

Ok. I'll get his info after class.
I was stopped at a light and he was giving some lady next to him the finger, and just rolled into my bumper

I haven't yet. He's sitting in front of me in class right now. And I know where he lives so I'm not worried about him dippin out or anything

Because we couldn't risk being late to class and he's sitting in front of me in class. I'll get his insurance info after class and work it out with my dad.

why would you leave the scene without calling the police and filing a report

What? why would you call the police for super minor damage? It wasn't a H/R

BTW: If the damage is less than 500$, you need to work it out personally with him. Unless your insurance deductible is less than that.

either get his insurance to cover the damage or have him pay cash out of pocket, depending on how old he is/how much he is supported by his parents he/they might want to pay you cash and not open an insurance claim, because that could cost them less. Im not sure how well you know the kid, but I would only recommend doing the cash option if he's a buddy

^ good info, but if he is going to pay out of pocket make sure its enough to cover any hidden damage
