Leaking rear shocks on 2012 VW Golf 2.5L at 50k miles

Ready to race!
I have a 2012 VW Golf 2.5L with 50k miles and It looks like my two rear shocks have leaks. Is this common or expected given the low mileage? Should I have them replaced and if so how much should I expect to pay?

I'll attach images below. Thanks!

It isnt common or expected at 50k miles.

Time for a set of coilovers.

Factory defect or someone was overloading the rear suspension or someone was off roading it and got sand/dirt all up in there.

Thanks for the replies.

I've owned the car since new and have been very gentle with it. There are a bunch of unavoidable speed bumps in the parking lot where I work, but I never drove over them quickly.

Maybe I should get something non OEM (bilsteins?) for replacements in the hopes that they're more reliable? Ok to have the rear shocks a different brand than the fronts?

what did you end up doing?

BTW 50k on shocks is pretty good, they're only designed to last about 50k.
Mine just started to leak at 70k, lucky I guess.

happened to my GTI at 100k miles... I got ST X coilovers installed, standard drop, nothing crazy, sits nice and handles well.

ST coilovers are good for these cars. Made by KW. German quality. Can't go wrong.

wow.... OEM shocks are weak I guess... one of the springs broke too. The shop that did the coilover install mentioned it...
