looking for someone to take over my lease. i have a 2013 gti autobahn 4 door clean title no accidents 6 spd manual trans with in perfect condition. it currently has 143xx miles and will be going higher since its my daily car. its never been beat on or seen a track day. i was it weekly and basically pretend its a child. it has the tire and wheel package, so if you get a flat its a free repair or replacement(you pick which). the remaining months are 27 out of 42. total milage allowed is 42k. its still under warranty and service. the payments are 450.99 a month. i am willing to cover the first payment if you take it over!.

i am located in miami, florida. must meet qualification of VW credit to get the 450.99 a month.

message me for more info and pics

Some one with more knowledge concerning leases will post most likely.

Things i have read are that you would still be on the hook if who ever takes it over defaults. Check that out with VW of A.

Same thing I've heard, Carbon. I also have no experience to say that it is true or not, but I've heard the same info as you.

This is correct. You can't "get out" of a VW Credit lease. They will simply add another party to it.

Bender is right. Some companies are more lenient. BMW lets you easily swap a lease and once the other buyer takes over, there is zero responsibility on your part. VW is less forgiving. Better for OP to see if he has any equity in the car (highly doubtful) although he may since that payment is pretty high for that car and then see about the buyout and seeing about selling it privately. Thats the best shot. Going to be hard to find someone to pay that kind of monthly on that car.

I was able to trade in my Impreza that I had leased, the VW dealer I traded it into just paid the car off to remove the lease. So you can (I believe, though VW may be different) sell your car...but you'd have to probably talk to someone to see what the penalty is for early payoff.
Fairly certain private sale is fine too, though again, that's something you'd have to talk to them about.

But also...450.99 a month DAMN son...
Working on your credit still and have a shitty apr %?

My thoughts exactly on the apr...I'm at $411 a month for one trim lower but with DSG so the price is within a few hundreds of a manual Autobahn. On top of that my terms were 36 months/45k miles

I have a base 2 door with manual trans, so I know that has something to do with mine being so much cheaper, but still, seems crazy high.

I'm at $365 a month (financing) and sometimes I wish my payment wasn't so damn high...I guess when you want a car or you're rebuilding credit, you do what it takes though.

My payment is with zero down (excluding fees) and tax rolled into the payment...8.875%...the price of living in NYC :(

leasing isn't as cut and dry as traditional financing. If I where the OP I would contact VWoA and find out what your pay off is. This would include your residual, remaining payments, and other fees that VW would require to "pay off" the vehicle. Also 450 a month for something that has such a high mileage allotment isn't bad. The more miles that are allotted in a lease, the lower the residual usually is. Leases don't have APR % rates they have a Money Factors.

So at the end of 42 months you've paid about $19K plus whatever down payment and taxes, you're probably in it close to $25,000, then you just hand over the keys, walk away and have nothing to show for it?

I gotta figure out a way to get guys to lease guns... I could make a killing.
