Also curious. Still on the fence between DM/SMFW.

I have a drop in just sitting around... I think I am going to just install it. If my stock clutch held up, I would just use that. The drop in is just about half the price of a full clutch (comparing installed prices). I figure, I can get myself some reps LED tails & drop in!

UPDATE! 3.31.13

Installed DriverGear springs and H&R Spacers! (10mm Front & 15mm Rear)

Overall they feel great, more like what a GTI should be like, firm and confident in bends with minimal ride compromise. IMO this rides better than stock. Spacers are great, no rubbing at all, I did do the fender screw mod on the rears but I dont think it was even necessary. The spacers give the car a good overall appeared and help it feel more "chunky" appearance with the wheels flush with the fenders.

what type of issues were you having with the the Injen CAI?
im about to purchase one.. and i saw this!

Well let me start off by saying I still like this intake due to sound an appearance, performance gains are minimal with intakes in our cars. The issue with this intake is the aftermarket maf housing this can cause read issues with the maf sensor and cause the issue to adjust timing too much to reach a balance. If this happens too much the engine can reach a self preservation point and throttle either slightly or all at once. Basically you would be accelerating with 100% throttle then all of the sudden with your foot still to the floor would go down to 50-60%. It's correctable but almost all intakes with aftermarket maf housings have this issue.
