UniConnect+ will support [most] all MED17 ECU Box Codes via OBD-2 port programming. Depending your box code, I can let you know. Please email me: john [at] unitronic [dot] ca with your full name and VIN.
Back for some updates, I received my cold air intake system from Unitronic last week and only managed to get it installed by my tuner couple days ago.
I reset the fuel trims via Vagcom by performing a code clearing, and then I drove the car for about 200 kilometers and decided to strap it on the dyno today for a pull.
The car setup is exactly same like my previous, only with the stock intake replaced with the Unitronic intake.
Apologize as I do not have the Winpep run files, hence I asked my tuner to send me the dyno graph and I just realized he did not include the torque in the dyno chart. He apologized and said he was busy and was rushing. I will ask him to update the graph and send it to me when he has time later.
Luckily he did send me the Vagcom log files, and I managed to plot out the chart to show the differences in the boost curve. With the Unitronic intake, the car was able to hold boost for much longer compared to the stock intake.
Previously the car was making 297 WHP with the stock intake. With the Unitronic intake, the car made 312 WHP.
There is a increase of 27 WHP near the redline compared to the stock intake, which I find it amazing for just a replacement of the intake.
I know it is a very subjective thing when it comes to the intake sound, but in my opinion the Unitronic intake is absolutely wonderful. It is not too loud, and hearing air being released by the diverter valve for the first time is really delightful.
The build quality of the intake is top notch, everything fits perfectly and the engine bay now looks so much more nicer with the intake installed.
Here are the photos of the intake to go along with the dyno chart.
Also, based on the screenshot captured by Vagcom sent to me by my tuner, the fuel trims are perfect as well.
I am very happy with the Unitronic products that I've currently purchased so far.
Dyno chart, I apologize on behalf of my tuner for not including the torque reading.
Looks like the fuel trims are healthy
Comparing the log files, the boost comes earlier, hits harder & maintains longer as well
The engine bay looks sexier with the intake
Some photos of the intake, build quality is excellent I must say

Vagcom Stock Intake vs Unitronic Cold Air Intake.png
Hello I'm Italian , sorry if I do not speak English well . I wanted to buy UNITRONIC obd2 connection +
1 ) ECU stock golf 6 gti dsg year 2011 European
2 ) ECU med 17.5 ( 5k0907115 )
3 ) no dialer Italy
4)you can dsg year 2011?
5)software stage1-2 - - how to buy?
6)software is cd or digital connection internet?
7)how to update various stage.
So I just got uniconnect, reflashed stage2... I thought there was supposed to be an option for launch control? Or does it automatically flash? Also, I started my car after flashing stage 2 and got some stuttering and weird idle and then it just went back to normal... Now seems a little rough.. Any thoughts? John?

Replied to your email. Brief answer — your ECU is an older ECU revision and an update is available to S0040 OEM Software Level. We'll discuss the rest via email.
Seeing as there are multiple competitors that are updating or releasing their software for the TSI (EA888 GEN 1 + 2), is there anything in regards to Unitronic updating the software for this motor?
It seems as if the Gen 1 and 2 TSI's are coming in to the "affordable" price bracket for a nice used car so a lot more people may look into getting tunes in the next few years.

We have no immediate plans to revise our Stage 1/Stage 1+/Stage 2 performance software calibration offerings at this time for the EA888 Gen1/2 platform, as the calibrations are proven to provide maximum performance while maintaining complete OEM-like reliability and drivability. We released this video back in March of 2014, which shows 264 whp / 292 wtq using our Stage 2 Software calibration, using our Dynapack Hub Dyno. Feel free to compare this to the others' advertised whp figures (also recorded on a Dynapack hub dyno), and you'll notice that it's +10HP (peak). Keep an eye on the area under the torque curve too, as you'll find that it isn't just a high peak that rapidly tapers off a few hundred RPM later. We're making ~292 wtq peak and it holds rather steady for a much longer duration through the powerband.
A broad area under the curve is going to make the car an absolute pleasure to drive, providing the driver with a complete "full" powerband feeling. It's also going to limit stress on turbo, engine and drivetrain instead of a high boost level simply for a high peak number that isn't as usable in a normal driving or racing environment.
Here is our advertised dyno graph for Stage 2, which is also shown in the video linked to above:
So, do you still think a revision is necessary? Don't forget about our UniConnect+ device, that provides our Clients with the freedom to flash their ECU from the comfort of their own home or garage, providing our Clients with a significant advantage. We're not new to this VW/Audi tuning industry, either, as we've been serving the VW/Audi community exclusively with industry-leading Performance Software since 2004. Want to take advantage of additional features like the recently released Spark-based Launch Control as an existing Unitronic Client? UniConnect+ makes this possible in about 10 minutes from the comfort of your own home or garage, and won't cost you $99 or more to add.

Great response John. As a satisfied Unitronic customer I can say that I have thoroughly enjoyed my software. While I feel satisfied with the software, there has been a few common issues with some customers such as acceleration problems and requested boost vs actual boost (with stage 2 software). I am sure that frequency of these issues are minimal, but again it seems to be a common subject.
I am definitely excited about Uniconnect+, I had ordered mine with KMD Tuning as soon as it was released. Unfortunately due to work, I have yet to get a chance to play with it. I will be reunited with my car in the next few weeks and definitely look forward to messing around with Uniconnect+ to upgrade my current stage.
Thanks for everything that you guys do and I really appreciate your feedback.
