I rocked a Dell Mini10V hackintosh running Snow leopard for almost 2 years, there's something very satisfying about running a sub $200 netbook that is almost bulletproof. There's even a solution for Lion now. I finally made the switch to a 11" MBA and I couldn't be happier.

funny ass thread. cuz i bought my first ever Mac 2 days ago. A Macbook Air 11" i5 128GB. I know NOTHING about Mac's.. I havent even opened it yet. I been building my own PC's from scratch since the early 90's, in addition to my career which is all computers also. My Sony laptop sold today, so now i can break the seal on my MBA.

my pc is my baby tho.

i7 2600k clocked to 4.4ghz or so
asus P67 deluxe i think?
8gb ram
ati hd6950 2gb
x-fi titanium fatality pro sound card
ocz vertex 2 128gb ssd
WD raptor 300gb 10k rpm
klipsch pro media 2.1
antec 900 case

Forgot my newest purchase last week. An Asus ProArt 24" IPS-panel monitor 1920 x 1200 16:10 format Most amazing monitor I've ever owned. The weak link in my current system is the SSD drive. i need the new SATA 6.0 drive to really use my system fully. looking at one of the current kings, the Samsung Series 830.

i like my pc's like my cars, best of the best.. but you cant always have the best, it changes way too often. this pc is at least a year old now..

lol I just tried to put a video up on here of my macbook and my hp envy laptop but it's not working. Idk I kinda like both and think I might have to keep em both haha. I really don't have any use for two computers though.

i bought my 3rd Toshiba NB505-500BL netbook this week. Already returned it tho. Always forget how slow it is. Even with upgraded Windows and 2GB ram. Plus its even heavier than a lot of the Ultrabooks anyway.

omg.. this Mac is SO confusing.. but i'll enjoy learning how to use it over the next 5 years.

can i plug in a regular mouse at work tomorrow and will it work normal?

It should, although, I've never used a mouse with my Macs.

There might be a few quirks but it should be plug and play like every other thing plugged into a Mac.

what about this Thunderbolt thing..

is that only for monitors or external hard drives? I assume you can't get a "thunderbolt mouse" or shit like that?

Macs trackpads are so slick, once you have it down you'll never want a mouse.

You would be correct, sir.

For now. :)

This.

I edit in CS5 with the trackpad.

true... i never used a trackpad this smooth in probably 10+ laptops. its amazing.

all my pic/video/mp3's copied fine from a USB stick from pc to mac.

i screwed something up!! fuck!

downloaded filezilla, right.. saw it in my downloads folder. all good. installed it, no issues. but, then i wanted it in the "applications" folder. I dragged and dropped, but it never appeared in the application folder.

well it worked the 2nd time.. guess i just need to use it daily and learn it..
