I got mine at Dick Hannah in Vancouver, though they have a Portland location as well. They're alright, I had better experiences at both of those locations that I did at Armstrong or Herzog-Meier.

I really don't feel like any dealerships in this area have outstanding customer service so I picked the one that sucked the least.

The nice thing about DH is that as long as you do all your scheduled services with them they give you 2 full sets of tires in the first 80K miles.

Thats where I got my 2011

You might have better luck asking on Vortex. If you plan on modifying the car, you should go to a mod friendly dealership. If not, then go to one you feel most comfortable in.

I asked Dick Hannah about modding - they said they don't care but they won't fix something under warranty that broke because of a mod. which is kinda obvious.

I bought from Herzog-Meier, but it was through a buying service so that eliminated most of the hassle...can't really recommend them unless you've got them by the balls and have a lot of patience like I did. I don't recommend H-M for service, I switched to Armstrong for that and have had much better experience there. I haven't been to DH, so can't say one way or the other.

Hey I just bought mine at the obrien VW in Salem, I used a car buying service and think I got a good price. Just watch out, I got suckered into some bs security thing that is useless as far as I can tell. The sales guy was really helpful and had everything ready for me.

Got mine last weekend from Herzog-Meier. Really liked my salesperson, Bob Porter, not sure about the rest of the service.

I work in the car business and have a very good relationship with a fleet guy at a VW dealership outside of Portland.

When I bought my car, it was incredibly easy. I had already driven a GTI so I called him up and told him the exact car I wanted. He traded a dealership up in Washington with a car in his inventory and had mine trailed down. No BS. Purchase price was a $100 less than invoice.

Couldn't of been any easier.

PM me if anyone wants contact info.

I also used Bob Porter from Herzog and had good luck. Nick in service is a good guy to deal with, he has helped us out on our last coupe of VW's

i had really good luck at Herzogg meier in beaverton. i also had bob as the sales man, i ordered the R and yeah H&m is fine for me for service but for any tuning or anything of that sort i would recommend futrellautowerks next to 185th.. the guys there are awesome

I second that. In fact, my car is at Futrell autowerks right now. Leaving work and going to pick it up!

Dean, the owner, is a pleasure to work with. I couldnt recommend a shop more or give any tuner higher marks for technical knowledge, friendliness or fairness. If you live in Portland and own a VW or Audi and you want to do upgrades, Futrell is the place.

Also, buying a car from Dick Hannah as I recently did was the worst car buying experience of my life. Those guys are sleezebags. A day doesnt go by where I dont kick myself for having rewarded their sleezy behavior by purchasing my GTI from them. I'll never go back and I'll do everything I can to make sure that no one that I like ever buys a car from them. I complained th to manager of the dealership and he eventually gave me a $300 gas card, which wasn't able to put a dent in my lingering bitterness.

Lastly, the free tires that they give you at Dick Hannah every 40k are crap. Super. Cheap. Crap. I don't remember off hand what kind of tires they are, but odds are if you're reading this forum you're what I would call an enthusiast. If you're an enthusiast you probably are into modding and tuning your car and you care about the parts on your car, which means that you would not want the crappiest rubber available trying to keep you planted on the road

We purchased two 2012 GTIs from Dick Hannah in PDX. One monday, one friday. Got a good deal and were treated very well. Helps knowing someone in the business.

We bought through DH in vancouver as they gave us the best price. Herzogg meier in beaverton wouldn't even come close to price matching.

Any of these dealerships mod friendly?
