Possible engine failure

So the saga continues.

so went to unicorn motor developments to have my car redone after the disaster that was the stratified map. The previous map made 343whp, after many hours we left with a strong 467whp.

today when heading out shopping the car had a failure.

the car seemed to loose power and let out a large plume of blue smoke, we stopped and got out to check what was going on.

car was running lumpy with a epc lightwith a misfire cyl4 code.

we cleared the code and drove him, car seemed ok off boost but misfired a lot and smoked of you tried to apply boost.

when I got home I noticed the filler cap area is covered in oil.

will look to get the plugs out later but any tips would be great

no? Been advised it is most likely a cracked piston pressurising the crank case
Damn that sucks, I would start with borescope for obvious damage then compression and leakdown tests if everything looks fine.

Also dump the oil and check it, the filter and housing with a flashlight for metal fragments.

Well 3 out of the 4 plugs are missing half their tips.

guess that’s the end of that.

got someone coming to do a compression test and see what’s up but not holding much hope

Sorry for losing the engine, was it nr4 that was wet? Looks like some of those plugs have been broken for a while, did it always knock during the Strat tuning?

yes always, I highly doubt it was caused by the unicorn tune, he is considering one of the best on the game here, and had built some very powerfully cars without issue

Sorry about the car, this is sounding tragic.

was just thinking that. Tune too spicy. That's what happens when you chase numbers.

if it always knocked during the strat tune, you should have trouble shooted other things before going to another tuner. I would say switching tuners is a last resort.

Previous tuner just kept pulling power, like I said the car was down 100whp on where it should have been

That's probably because your car had a lot of knock. Sounds like Stratified was trying to protect your engine and this other guy, Mr. Unicorn, could care less. If your car has a lot of knock, your tuner will start reducing power and timing to find that sweet spot were the knock is minimal and manageable versus having a high horsepower car with a ton of knock.
