Q : Adjust the steering effort with VCDS... ?

( 2012 ) VW Golf-6

If I understood the matter correctly,
it should be possible to adjust the electromechanical power steering with VCDS
so that you get lighter or heavier steering.
And also that you should be able to choose linear or progressive resistance speed dependent.

Can anyone explain how to do ?

That's different from what I understand. The steering assist is quite well tuned from factory for the GTI from what I found, turning it off made the car feel terrible on faster corners.

There was a Russian forum where someone managed to load different power steering curve files from an Audi, but I can't seem to find it now.
