Hi
My question is for practitioners.
My battery in my VW Golf MK6 has just died.
Despite charging several times, it only allows me to start once.
Once the engine is turned off, it will not start again.
My question is for practitioners, can I replace the AGM with a normal battery.
I should add that I do not use the stop/start system, rather the electronics are not on when the engine is not running.
Although I am an electrician, and know that a battery is a battery and that's it. However, I am bombarded with various pieces of information, such as how to charge an AGM battery vs. a normal battery, or whether a normal battery in a car that was originally AGM would overcharge (some even talk about exploding).
I have a battery from a previous car, fully operational, branded as Toyota, 53Ah which I think is sufficient capacity.
And I wonder if I can fit this battery, at least for a while.
My question is mainly to those who have done so, have they had any problems or is everything ok?
Thanks
