I recently bought a 2012 GTI and when I bought it I knew it had issues (water pump, fuel injectors), but now that it runs I noticed that the passenger-side door speaker has an annoying rattle sound when playing loud music. I want some recommendations on how to re-mount the new speakers (because I have to drill our the factory rivets), and I want some recommendations on what brand speakers to replace them with especially if I want to add a sub latter.

I'd remount the factory speakers with Rivnuts and put the money towards a sub or head unit instead. The OEM head unit processes audio poorly and isn't capable of utilizing even the factory speakers to their full extent. Adding a sub helps too, as you can turn down the bass on the head unit and let the door speakers focus on the midrange
