Reversing Camera Installation

I have a 2011 MK6 GT TSI 1.4, with a OEM aftermarket headunit, which allows for a reversing camera addition, replacing a rear license plate lamp.

I am looking for some idea of what would be the best way of routing the wiring which would plug into the back of the headunit? Cant really seem to find much from an online search.

Any help would be appreciated.

Follow the existing wiring and on the inside of the car just tuck it in between the carpets and trim at the floor. You want to take apart as little as possible

On the last car I had I just took it to a stereo shop. They did the whole thing and camera install, plus video in motion for like 150 IIRC

OEM AFTERMARKET ? That doesn't make sense it can only be one or the other.

Sorry i just reread what i wrote and your right lol. Its an aftermarket headunit.

Does anyone know how to get to the wiring within the bumper where the licence plate lamp is? Do i have to access it removing part of the boot trim so i can follow the wiring?

I went along the passenger side under the door sill trim panels. Is a pain to do but turned out nice.
