Haven't been on here in a while. Usually on the "other" VW forum. Anybody thinking of going to the Import/Kit Car nationals in Carlisle, PA on the 20th-22nd?

I'm thinking of going up--might be more fun w/ a group going up.

BTW--I'm in W'burg--about 30 miles East of Richmond.

There is 1 other MK6 in the 'burg I am aware of. . Love not seeing my car driving around--too often.

Did I see you at the East Coast gas station on Broad Street a few days ago, or was that another tinted CWG?

Saw two white '10 or '11 GTI's with those black dealer upgraded wheels... can't of what they're called. One pulling out of shopping center in Chester where Martin's is and another one going north on 288 in Chester. It's possible it was the same GTI.

Will soon have a carbon steel gray 2010 MKVI 6spd 4dr GTI Autobahn and plan on putting 35% tint on all of the windows. I'm already anxious to start modding, and I don't even have the car yet!!!!!

I agree - this is exactly why I love driving mine around! I live in Museum / Carytown area and see virtually none...

Me too. My mk6 hides indoors 99% of the time though ;)

I see a 4dr mk6 GTI, shadow blue, black wheels with a red stripe, around here a few times a month. Mostly on Patterson Ave, and @ the carytown Kroger last week I think. Anyone?

Howdy ya'll!

I recently got a black 4-dr 2012 autobahn DSG. Enjoying it, thus far. I'm in the Church Hil area. I'm not anywhere close to my scheduled maintenance, but was just curious... what dealership would you guys recommend going to around here? I bought the car in NC.

Thanks for any input!

Priority Volkswagen in Chester!

PM me for some more info, we do a lot of get togethers in the surrouding areas.

I also bought mine out of town so none of these dealerships owe me any special treatment.

Haven't dealt with Priority yet, too far of a drive for me. But I've heard good things.

I had less than great experiences with West Broad for warranty work and routine maintenance on my TDI. So I switched to Brown's, they have been great and will be doing all the service on my GTI.

Awesome. Thanks for the replies. Does Priority also do APR flashes? I thought I read that on APR's website. Anyways, thanks again for the help.

Getfast, I see you also had an M3. That's a hard car to top, wouldn't you say? However, as I'm getting more mature (read: older) I appreciate the space and practicality of the GTI without sacrificing too much of the power. Just curious on other folks' thoughts on the transition.

Again thanks!

Still got it, silver '98 sedan with 130k miles, track project and daily beater. It's my fourth E36 and second E36 M3/4... I had the first for about 5 years/60k miles and missed it so much I had to have another

Despite having similar whp/tq and acceleration, to me it is much more of a real performance car than a GTI... more fun to drive at or near the limits - better steering, more grip, and near perfect balance/handling particularly.

However, my M3 is a worse street car (stiffer suspension, stickier tires, worse stereo, a/c not as cold, clutch is pretty worn, etc) so when I go on the road I prefer to take the GTI... which of course also hauls way more stuff and gets way better gas mileage. And would be way better in storms or snow.

Funny story, I discovered just how much more stuff a few weeks ago while trying to haul four deck chairs home from Target. They wouldn't fit in the E36 whatsoever, so I left the GF sitting in them in the Target parking lot while I made the 15min round trip to get the GTI, which fit all four chairs with plenty of room to spare

Anyway, this particular pair of cars, they complement each other nicely and I enjoy owning both, with no plans to sell either one anytime soon. The plan right now is to keep the GTI nearly stock so I'll have more $ to spend on further M3 upgrades :w00t:

Yes, Priority is an APR dealer. They're also and H&R Dealer and can pretty much get anything that NGP sells.
