Road trip or cruise over summer

Mcflurvin

Ready to race!
So a couple friends and I have decided going on a cruise or road trip this summer. But now we can't decide on which one we want to go on. A road trip would be more of an adventure but costs more while a cruise is more relaxing and costs less.

So my question: On June 20 should we A) take a road trip for 2 weeks or B) go on a cruise for two weeks.

P.S. so far we have three people who are going and three people who are 50/50.

Cruise man you will have 100x more fun you can party and go to bed in your own room... you don't have to waist time on the road that you could be in the pool/beach/casino or wherever you would spend your time...

Hands down CRUISE!!

I take a cruise once per year. Great way to disconnect from the world, relax and clear the mind. Just choose your ship wisely. I'm a fan of Royal Caribbean, Allure/Oasis are my favorites. So much to see and do.

I dont like having someone else make plans for my vaca so I would vote road trip. But I wouldn't take a cruise if you paid for it. Giant petri dish

Cruise man. Get annihilated, party, bang some chicks, get a penicillin shot when you get back and you're good to go.

Road trip/fly and stay somewhere. Cruises with their itineraries, fixed dining hours, etc are too structured. Not to mention they're in the news constantly with illnesses breaking out and mechanical issues. No floating mass of humanity for me.

Cruise gets my vote

Roadtrips are fun on the first day but, after that it gets boring as heck. I've never taken the GTI on a roadtrip but, I would imagine its even more tiring.

The freedom of the open road. You like cars and driving or you wouldn't have a GTI...

George Washington will be disappoint if you take a cruise.

I see cruises as something for people who hate traveling.

I was in Honduras and drove down to the harbor and everyone who got off the cruise ship appeared overweight. The got to say they "went" to Honduras but literally saw nothing and experienced nothing.

Its all how you plan it.

We cruised to Alaska a while back. Lots to stuff to do on the boat, but the shore trips were great. Went salmon fishing in the bering straight, walked on glaciers, did some hiking. It was awesome.

Literally the only cruise I see a point in taking(even though I still wont go). Those coastal glaciers are stunning.

Not necessarily. I love traveling. I just returned from 2 weeks in Thailand and Singapore. However, sometimes it's nice to have a mindless vacation where you don't have to worry about taxis, subways, finding restaurants so on and so fourth. I cruise out of LA to Mexico every year. I never leave the ship. Port days are the best. The ship is half empty so you can just relax by the pool.

There are joys in the exploration of a land trip but they are not as relaxing as a cruise. It all depends on what you're looking for.
