Rusted underbody metal bar

Greetings fellow VW lovers,

I recently discovered rust under my MK 6 and im a little worried.
It is located right behind the fuel tank and has some holes. Can anyone help identify the purpose and name of said component?

Any help would be appreciated.

Meh, looks like a little bit of surface rust. Nothing to worry about. And whatever part that is (swaybar?), that hole was there from the factory. It’s too round and even to be a perforation from the rust.

You must live someplace that doesn’t get winter. You’d probably have a heart attack if you saw the underside of my car.

It's part of the rear subframe it doesn't look too bad.

you think that's bad? take a look at the bracket under your rain tray. I have no idea why those things rust over so bad, but mine is literally flaking apart. No idea how to fix that shit either and it's the same story with everyone's car from what I've seen.

mine is rusted and have some cracks i went few times for wheel alighnment but aligement guy said he could do this because those bolts are heavy rusted and he cant twist then all the suspension system is rusted because in poland they spary salt water in winter on roads and its the main reason for rust on underbody parts
im looking at about 1000 usd for repairs​
