Service costs?

Biff

In looking at a thread from 2008 through 2010 it appears many are being charged for the regularly scheduled services. Is any one getting theirs for free?

Well, me I decide to change my oil at 6500 miles instead of 10,000k would have been Free oil change, but to me it wasn't worth it... Because I checked the deep stick and my oil looked pretty dark so I did not wanted to wait another 3,500 miles just in case. My plan is to keep the car for at least 10 years so I want to make sure engine have fresh oil, at the end I rather spend $83 bucks at the Dealer than get my engine busted because of Free oil change.

2011s have there scheduled service (10k, 20k and 30k) free. I had my oil changed at 2,500 as I was not comfortable leaving the oil in that long on a fresh engine. I will also have the dealer do the oil changes at 15k, 25k and so forth. $83 is cheap when you figure in the cost of the spec oil (paid $9 with tax for a quart the other day) and the filter.

Not many people here are going to like what you did at 2500 miles.

Synthetic oil looks very dark. It wasn't bad.
Look, it's your money, but you just wasted it!

It appears you get the first 3 services free in the US everyone else has to pay for these thats why I had the VW 3 year service plan for £250. There is a thread on another forum asking if they can opt out the this free service package in the US.
