Spark plugs low mileage replacement schedule

Hello,


I have a 2013 GTI. The maintenance manual states to replace the spark plugs every six years regardless of mileage. It is the six year mark now, but I have very low mileage, 18,000 miles. I'm in northern California and I have a covered parking spot so the car is not affected much by the weather. I wonder if replacing the spark plugs now is really justified. :iono:

I'd just do it. It's less than $40 and 30 minutes of your time. After that, you know you're good for a while.

I agree with Torga. They are cheap and easy to do. Could also minimize the chances of one getting stuck if you wait 10 years.

I'm going to disagree. The spark plugs are not decomposing when the car sits. Nothing wrong with just leaving them in there and saving a little money. Plus bonus points for originality.

I'd just do em, its 6 years or every 40k per VW. Takes 10 minutes and costs less than $50
