ST Suspensions XTA Coilovers

Has anyone seen or ordered these yet? Basically ST's with these additional features.

-Aluminium adjustable uniball top mounts (when possible)
-Scaled camber adjustment (optionally also caster)
-Externally adjustable damping

I reviewed the standard ST's already and may consider selling them to review these new XTA's.

ST XTA: http://www.st-suspensions.net/st/info/coil_overs/st_xta_coilovers

For those who demand the absolute best performance comes the ST XTA coilover. The full driving behaviour of your car can be adjusted using KW damper technology along with an adjustable aluminium uniball top mount for fine-tuning of the camber and caster!

Performance driving in mind
ST XTA coilovers feature KW damping technology which allows the suspension to be made either stiffer or softer depending on the driving conditions. This damping adjustment is made on the upper end of the chromed piston rod allowing the setup to be changed almost instantly. If the rebound force is increased, the car will drive with even more track stability and further reduced bodyroll. If the rebound force is decreased, the car will feel more comfortable when on the move. For increased performance, the ST XTA features an aluminium adjustable topmount allowing the camber and caster to be adjusted depending on your driving needs or vehicle setup.

Easy lowering adjustment
Like all ST coilovers the lowering adjustment is made via a continuous thread on the galvanized strut. This even allows the lowering to be made even when the kit is installed by turning the spring plate higher or lower! NOTE: The lowering of each vehicle differs greatly with ST XTA coilovers due to the type of construction. For example, older vehicles such as the Honda Civic (EJ9) can be lowered between 40-75mm with ST XTA coilovers, while newer models such as the Audi S3 (8P) can be lowered between 10-40mm due to being much lower from the factory.

KW Engineering: Exclusive for ST suspension
The high-quality ST XTA coilover is based on the twin-tube damping principle of low friction combined with pressure-resistant damper housings. Manufactured directly at KW, a mono block guide and seal package reduces the friction of the damper as well as protecting it against corrosion and dirt. Each galvanized strut is sealed multiple times to ensure maximum longevity in ALL weather conditions.

Latest damping technology for maximum longevity
Reduced system friction for effective damping adjustment
Individual lowering within the TÜV-tested adjustment range
Front and rear axle (when possible) with thread adjustment
Galvanized coilover struts with additional coating for an optimized corrosion protection
Complete solution with adjustable spring plate, race spring system and bumpers with dust protection
Aluminium adjustable uniball top mounts (when possible)
Scaled camber adjustment (optionally also caster)
Externally adjustable damping

That seems to be KW V2 plus camber plate. KW clubsport with rebound and bound adjustment is difficult to adjust. I like the simplicity.

Those look like ST raided the KW Clubsports parts bin:
-linear springs
-helpers springs
-top mounts/camber plates

But the rear shock looks like it came from KW V2. Damping adjustment is probably still on the tops of the front and rear. If rear weight jacks were added this would give BC and BG RS2's some real competition.

It also looks like a great value too, considering its for the euro crowd from a legit company. According to this page the price should be around $1600 probably cheaper since the price includes VAT: http://www.st-suspensions.net/st-gewindefahrwerk-st-xta-stahl-verzinkt-mit-fester-kennung-28910.html

The only thing I don't like is the tab design for the front end-links. I prefer the beefier Bilstein style mounting point instead.

FWIW, my ST's have 70k of hard driving on them and I've had no issues with the tab. Dampning and compression are still perfect on them after all of these miles as well. I've become a firm beliver in ST's

I agree KW/ST V1's are good value for money and I prefer the brand over any other mid-range coilovers. At this price and those features the XTA is going to appeal to folks looking for a basic track setup. It's an extremely limited example but there was someone here who had a failure where a similarly designed tab sheared off their VWR coilovers.

Thats where the Eibachs are really nice.

I think the two are very similar actually, not a bad thing just design and branding. I read somewhere that KW makes the Multi-Pro shocks for Eibach. Looking at the US versions of the Pro Street Pro coilovers they might have something to do with those too.

I don't care for Eibach springs. I've had clearance/quality control issues running them on my Ohlins and at least two of the local guys had spring issues with their R1's. When I rebuild my suspension I'll be swapping out for Swift springs.

KW uses eibach springs on alot of their products, so does OEM VAG. Eibach used to have KW make the dampers but now they are all in house made in the USA (pro-s and v1s where very close to each other). VW DG springs are eibach

I have the Pro-S Eibach non adustable but they are $400 cheaper than kw v1 and SS, adjustable swaybar attachment and have a better adjustable perch.

So far I have not issues or complaints with their springs.

Too new. There's a guy on the MK5 boards with them on his MK7 but that's all I was able to find. But the last image is from the ST Suspension's GTI page.

I just installed a set. Waiting for them to settle, but so far I like them. Much smoother than I expected. I'm using the recommended settings, 7 clicks.

Fronts and rears are adjustable at the top. They come with 1" shorter end links in the box.

Going for these XTA's next.

Selling a set of MK5/MK6 ST Coilovers, just broken in under 20K of highway driving and never fully lowered, $450 with Audi TT-RS firmer rubber strut mounts with same mileage. Here is my full HYDE16 review for their description: http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1415613

Good deal here! I just took my ST's off, cleaned and painted them and put them back in. Over 80k miles and the damping and rebound still feels excellant. I wouldn't doubt it if these things lasted 150k.
