Would cutting the resonator off a stock downpipe throw a cel or cause any damage?

the resonator is on the cat back portion, no it would not cause a cel.

That's a catalytic converter. Removing it would most likely throw a CEL unless you run 02 sensor spacers or get a tune.

Like previously stated, just buy a downpipe.... However if you're dead set on cutting the stock one up, the biggest restriction is the giant cat immediately following the turbo. Best of luck with that one.

Don't waste you time buy a 3 inch dp and be done with it

Easy to say buy a 3 inch downpipe but then id have to go stage 2 to not get a cel....

You don't have to go to Stage 2 to avoid a CEL. Just get spacers for the 3" DP and you're good to go on stock tune.
