Hey guys, my name is Tamara. I just recently sold my '11 Wrangler and purchased a '11 GTI, 2DR, 6 speed with about 50,000 miles. I'm stationed out here in North Oregon/South Washington so getting rid of the Wrangler was a big decision! Anyway, I'm not sure what type of build I'll be doing here. But starting off mods and tips are always welcomed!

Welcome Tamara!
My vote goes to: a good set of tires to improve traction first, get a TQ arm insert to help the cause as well, preferably the one from 034motorsports, it's very cost effective & good.
VagCom: XDS level 2, brake level 2. There are some others tweaks you can do in one shot.

I think in the area where you are, a mild level rear sway bar will improve handling as well.
I’m leaving tune for Xmas, once the specials become available. How’s the clutch?

Thank you for the tips! I'll definitely have to look into all of the things you've mentioned. The clutch is good! Not slipping or anything like that so that's good. I had the P2015 code show up but I got it all replaced under warranty so that was nice.

A question for all you guys that have been in the business of tuning your VW. I'm obviously new to this, I use my car to drive a total of almost 800 miles a month. Would it still be a good thing to do the running? Also I'm not very familiar with any of it so where can I find information to educate myself on it before I pull the trigger. Thanks again!

The Fixer
You'll want a stage 1 tune anyway. Lots of good tuners and they flash the ecu through the obd2 port. Only drawback would be your clutch may start slipping, but it's easy to let off the power if that happens.

Great thank you! I'll try searching the forum for stage 1 info

Decided to start with something small and black out my emblems.

I personally liked how they came out. I need to do the front ones but as you can tell it's been raining.
Next, I'll be ordering Depo Golf R LED Tail Lights-Smoke Black next week
And also thinking about the Eonon GA6153W Head Unit.

Depo Golf R LED Tail Lights in Dark Cherry

I got some Depo Golf R LED Tail Lights in Dark Cherry. I'm very pleased with them. For the price, they are absolutely solid. Install took me about 45 minutes. Took some pictures, but as always, doesn't stop raining in Washington.
