Wow the badgeless looks great!

BTW the rotors internal cooling veins are NOT directional with AR rotors therefore it doesn't matter which way you put them on.

Looks amazing! As a fellow TR GTI owner I am jealous. I've got a JOM grille matte black laying around as well. Also I painted my mirror caps matte black, and when ever I get off of my lazy ass I will vinyl my roof (Yay no sunroof!).

I generally love black wheels, but I am not sure right now since I have V-line Passat Velos in Titanium silver and don't want to ruin them by painting.

Looks great though.

Thanks for all the input! Both positive and negative!
I realize it's somewhat of a debated look, but that's part of the reason I did it.

About the spray work: Fortunately he did NOT have to repaint the whole hood. He did re-clearcoat the whole thing though. The guy (Joe) blended the colour perfectly. Literally looks like it rolled out of the dealership notchless.
About the catch can: I personally think it does a lot. Just emptied it over the weekend, and it was almost full. But there's always an argument on catch cans...

So anyways, I still need to post moar pics of the front, and then the rear badge of course.

When/where is this "meet?" or is it just you and some buds getting coffee?

wouldn't mind joining! I'm up in Santa Monica, but will travel any distance!
This particular Cars & Coffee gtg is at the Carlsbad Outlet Mall and is usually every 3 or 4 Saturdays. Something like that. But I think they're trying to make it more regular.
Here's a link to some more pics I posted from it: http://www.golfmk6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11384

NOW BACK TO THE BUILD!!!

...No news to report. :p

You empty your VTA Catch Can? I thought that was the whole point of VTA, no need to empty it. How does it smell btw?

Btw I love your front end, I wish I had gotten a red GTI if cops around here weren't borderline psycho, it looks good.

Your car is sexy, i want to do the black roof on my cw, but the dealership put lightt v-kool tint on my car, almost green looking..think it would still work?!
yeah, it would still work. I looked at your pic, and it looks fine to me!

Yeah, you have to empty the VTA can occasionally. Definitely not as frequently as a recirc can though. And you'll know when you need to empty it because it'll start leaving a little bit of residue around the can.
The smell doesn't exist. I thought that I noticed it at first, but I think now that I was imagining it.

Nothing too exciting to update on really.
A local guy I met from the Vortex wanted to have an armrest, and I don't use mine, so I swapped with him. The cupholder piece I got from him that's now installed is from a Mk5 Rabbit.
Also, you can see in the first pic how I swapped the rear headrests to the front seats.

Blacked out my fogs with PlastiDip after a thread OverTimer started about not liking the OEM foglight design on the GTI.
Then I went crazy with my camera... This is probably only half the pics I took.
