I have 18x8.5/ET45, which pokes 3mm more than that.

I rubbed at some hard corners hitting a dip when I was 24.3ftg front

I raised it to 24.5 and it was fine, until I got the AD08-R which have a stiff shoulder...now I rolled the fenders and I never rub. I am at 24.6" front and 25" rear.

Don't get ST's if you are gonna go all the way down. 24-24.3 is the lowest. Depends on the car etc. If you lower past 25.5 FTG, they will void your warranty.

GET H&r ultra lows.

~24 is what I'm aiming for. I already have the ST coils but I was asking because I was going to get smaller tires to accommodate me going lower but if they didn't go low enough then there would be no point.

I knew these didn't go that low going into this and I was okay with that but now I'm not. low is an addiction lol. If someone wanted to trade their h&r ULs for my STs plus cash i'd do it. but I doubt that's ever going to happen

I am planning on purchasing wheels with these specs
18x8.5 et42 / 18x9.5 et40
225/40/18 all around

I am also planning on installing my coilovers soon.
how low can I go without rubbing?

Go with 205/40 in the front and 215/40 in the back, roll your fronts, and you won't rub with regular driving and you can make it to 24 FTG.

I'm at 24"1 and 24 at the back, I have Sts. I have 215/40/18 tires. Mind you it's a 2.5

Is there a difference between the gti and 2.5 in terms of wheel arch/fender size?

I'm sure this has been convered, but I don't feel like looking through 95 pages to find it. I'm getting ready to buy a V2 kit for my MK6 GTI and new wheels along with it. I'm thinking 18x8.5 all around for the wheels, but I'm not sure on an offset of 35 or 45. I don't want any issues with tires rubbing the bags, but I don't want to poke. I'm going for a flush look. Any advice helps. Thanks.
