i might put my stock downpipe back on for tomorrow. long overdue to hang out in my garage and work on my GTI. probably watch some Renetto on YouTube while I work. My car just isn't fast enough, and a stage 2 will never satisfy me. So I want to try out the tight stage 1 again for a bit.

i got tired of their BS real quick. i almost got one. they had the same service most people here talk about.

True, but just buy a used ECU for a little more than 100 shipped, have them remove the immobilizer, and now you have 2 tunes to choose from. Even though they may be slow to return it, lol.

the first drive on any hardware change is always the most important. as i mentioned, i put my stock downpipe back on late last night, and flashed back to Unitronic Stage 1+. (yes 93 octane on 91 gas, ill log the timing pull when i get a chance, should be fine.)

the first difference i noticed this morning was better throttle response from a dead stop. didnt notice much else yet. but there is a 1/2 second less throttle lag from a stop with that tight stock downpipe. but im probably losing at least 20 tq in my low to midrange from what all the history has shown.

TBH- your threads are always the most entertaining of any on the forum. Not because of what you do, but because everyone flocks to it and talks cars. That's the kind of thing I'm interested in.

Sorry if I missed it, but why wouldn't you run the 91 tune if that's what's in your GTI?

I miss the Yaris today. That torque in 3rd gear with Stage 1 was amazing. Fucking pulled. Oh well. The 17 year old kid who bought it is probably stoked out of his mind on that car. Is what it is. We do what we do and we live with our choices.
