Those who park their cars for winter or for a while

So for those who park up their cars for winter or for a while, do you start the car time to time? how often do you guys start it?
I know I can unplug the battery negative terminal cable, but I rather not... I do start my GTI every 4 - 7 days, I was wondering if anyone else does it?

Especially when you park the car for winter, or for a long period of time (vacation/time off).

I usually try to actually drive it and get it up to normal temps during the winter when it is nicer out, as opposed to just starting it for a bit. I do keep a battery tender on it every once in a while as well.

Yes. I do start my GTI, idle in my underground parking lot until REV’S drop to normal revving level and then drive around my underground parking lot and then take her up to the local roads, drive a bit, shift, brake, get the car worked up a bit and then bring her back down to the underground parking lot, wait a few minutes and turn her off until next time!

I take about 30-45minutes to do all this. I also open the engine hood, check the fluids (coolant and engine oil(when the engine is off), and I smell the engine bay for any weird smells).

I also listen to the engine as much as I can.

lately I haven’t heard the LPFP activate when I first unlock and open the driver door, I’m going to leave my phone underneath the car next time and record the whole unlock and initial cold start up process for an accurate reading.

I did bring it to a shop before parking my GTI for winter, and had the fuel system inspected, and they said fuel pressure is good (up to spec) and the LPFP does prime/activate.

I’ll pay more attention next time I start my GTI.
I hope this helps someone!
