Turbo flapper replacement question

Well it looks like to fix my underboost on my ccta I’ll have to at least get an eBay flapper kit. Will I have to drop the turbo or can the repair and weld be done on the car ? How hard a skill is dropping the turbo? I’ve already changed my water pump, my intake manifold and dropped my dsg to change the rear main seal amongst all the other issues so I guess I have some skill at hand. Thanks

If you have done the rear main seal then you can drop the turbo. Need a few different tools like a long Allen socket.
