VagCom Profiles & Instructions For Testing Gasoline, Spark Plugs and Water Methanol

Start your WOT pull at 2,000 RPM in the highest gear you normally use under full load (3rd or 4th gear). 4th gear is preferred as it's a longer pull and when using TURBO! mode in VagCom, the sampling rate is much better for more overall data to review. 4th gear requires a long stretch to safely run through 6,000rpm.

4th gear it is.....route 80 just got a fresh coat of asphault

You are welcome but there are many others to thank as well for the information they shared through the years.

How much do you need to fly out to AZ and help me out with my problems..?

I just logged with this, super easy but hopefully the logs turned out ok. I won't clutter them here but I posted links to them in my thread..

Boost and Misfires look good, what spark plug and what spark plug gap?

Your misfire log is way short, did you monitor 5 min at cold start, 10 minutes of cruising, 5 min at warm idle and then a full throttle (WOT) pull or two?

Your timing log was from 3,200 rpm to 4,300 rpm. What gear were you in? Re-try from 2,000 rpm to 6,500 rpm using the turbo mode on VagCom. In these logs you only show correction factor up to -3.8 degrees from 3,400 rpm to 3,800 rpm.

What file is this and which gasoline used?

I tried to log again but had some weird shiz going on, I loaded the misfires file and when it was running it went into and infinite loop of "please wait" messages.

I ran those on the 91 octane on the 91 file with meth, pump was replaced yesterday. The plugs are stock w/ 0.28 gap. I have new BKR8EIX's on the way should have them tomorrow.

I had to return the cable but I will borrow it again tomorrow and run logs on 91 and 93 with the new plugs with a 0.26 gap

Holy amazing thread Ryan!

I just swapped out my 1000 mile old pfr7b for the bkr8s

Look how hot the 7s got. The ground strap changes color almost at the base ring!

Did a couple of logs as well. I'm no expert, but everything looks good to me as far as boost goes.

I have no idea what the airflow is supposed to look like with a good after-market intake, but the airflow logs look smooth and consistent with my custom one.

In my timing log, I have a couple of points where timing is pulled, not sure if I should be concerned or not.

Take a look if time allows, I appreciate the input. All logs were done on the same road, 3rd gear, ~2000rpm to redline, 83 F Ambient T. I was struggling with the dsg "helping" me downshift from 2k rpm, so I had to ease onto the throttle from 2k-2.5k rpm to stop it.

Ok, these should be better.

91 octane on 93 file with Meth
BKR8EIX AT 0.026
85 degrees - if that matters.

One thing I just noticed was I consumed almost 3/4 of a gallon of Meth, my guess the start and stop times might be F'd up right now.

I'm trying to change plugs (for the first time myself) and attempted to adjust down from 28 to 26 as per APR. My adjuster didn't seem to have the strength to lower the strap and it also marked up the strap.

How do I close the gap and also, can I still use the plug
