Interesting stuff. @zrickety +2mm more for my offset... Sounds like a fair bit of rubbing. I'm not opposed to rolling.

Now is that for fear of paint failure or weld failure? I love to pretend I'm patient but I'd almost certainly fall into that crowd who succeeded but not without problems.

I've also considered fender flares, but I would much rather have purchased wider tires with a deeper offset if I'm going as extreme as fender flares.
More so weld failure which would lead to paint issues

Do NOT try to roll the rears...it will end badly. Ask me how I know.
You may want to cut/add flares, or revert to stock which is eventually what I did.

So you had Eibach springs over Konis and you had a little rubbing? I'm coming off of Eibach springs on stock struts and going into ST XA coilovers. I set them pretty stiff, but not maxed. Maybe keeping the rear stiff will be the secret sauce 🤞

Downpipe reattached (on new studs ). Engine permanently mounted.
Rear calipers fit now. Tbh I was kinda hoping they wouldn't, that way I could swap back to stock spindles and be done with it. Now I'm going to have to face a clearance dilemma in the summer. Ah well, fuck future me it's his problem.
Shop didn't know how to reinsert the shift selector back into the trans. I'm honestly not sure how I mistakenly got it out; I don't think I forced it at all. Might be in trouble on this one 😅

Looking for some input on diagnosing an issue I’m having with my 2011 GTI. Currently it’s running a little rough on cold starts. Once it’s up to temp and I’ve driven a bit it feels and sounds fine. Doing some internet searches comes up with carbon build up but I had that done about 25,000 miles ago (2 years). Could it be that so soon? I have 2 codes but I’m not sure if it’s related. Intake Air System Leak (P2279) and System Too Lean At Idle, Bank 1 (P2187). I also have a small oil leak that I need to try and track down.

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak. Probably not related to your oil leak.
