What did you do to your MK6 today?

I‘ve had to patch the yellow wire three times already. It’s super flimsy and gets brittle. I wrapped the wire with audi wire tape and it’s been working ok for more than a year. The whole things flips in and out so the wires takes a beating every time I think.

Fortunately mine lasted quite a while before this happened, probably because of the good weather here. It looks like VW revved the RVC (ends with AS instead of AQ now) so maybe the new one will last at least until I get rid of the car. (y)

☹ , I was just looking at the rvc last night on ecs . Would be such a sweet mod, but if I recall correctly it's a pain to install?

A lot of the pain is in trim removal and reinstallation in my experience. Otherwise routing wires isn't too bad.

70K mile Tune up time!
New PCV with intake hose, fresh oil, new coil packs, new (colder) plugs, techron fuel injector cleaner, full tank of gas and a bath!

DSG service and new tensioner and chain next week.

Was running Bosch DPs and switched them for one step colder NGK Laser Platinum Premiums.

Below is a pick of the plugs I pulled...a lil white and a lil oil on #3, but not too bad for the wear!

Also, I got a bore scope on Amazon for $20 to look at my carbon buildup...actually, pretty clean for 70K miles...yes?

Are you using shell vpower??

That is impressive for 70k,
Are you doing the tensioner as a precaution?
What year is your gti?

Ordered the 034 Motorsports street density engine and transmission mounts.

If I don't go easy in 1st and 2nd I definitely get some wheelhop. Hopefully the mounts will help with some of that .

I'm tempted to get the 034 dogbone and insert or maybe just dogbone. However I don't want crazy amounts of nvh.

Are any of you using the street density mounts and dogbone from 034 ?

Once I get the engine and transmissions mounts installed . I feel like the stock dogbone will be the weaklink. I'm definitely not putting in any inserts with the stock dogbone on the car . Read the few post that I found are causing me concern lol

Any feedback is welcome, thanks

The 034 dogbone is pretty good but does add a bit of nvh. I'd return those motor and trans mounts and get bfi, they crap out after a few months.

2010. Religious oil changes, injector cleaner every 3rd tank...and no catch can...yet. ?

I did a diagnostic on it. It has the original tensioner which we all know is bad mojo. I'm at 4.52 for slack. 5 is out of limits...you want to be around 2-2.5, but anything under 4 is good.

I have the dogbone...adds a lil vibration, but helps a lot on wheel hop!

JW the sleeper, posts random tech questions, already knowing half the answers or planned maintenance items, then busts out the borescope. I honestly just scrolled down like Wow this dude took pics of every cylinder.
Lol! Yeah, I have a tendency to dig in and research the heck out of everything. ?

Just remember, the problem with the old tensioner is that the metal itself will suddenly break without warning. Oil changes do nothing to mitigate it and existing chain slack is no indication.

I'm sure you're aware, I just want to reiterate since I've seen a lot of owners around the internet with the mindset they can avoid it with better maintenance.

My wheel hop went away with the LCA bushings (large position, Whiteline). HPA puck in the subframe helped too.
