What kind of fuel should you put in a 2.5L?

I put regular unleaded 87 in mine, because that's what it says on my car.
But i've some people put different fuel in theirs, does it matter that much or not?

Put what the manual suggests. You will waste money if you start putting in higher octane than the engine is designed to use, and you can potentially cause premature damage if you (regularly) put in lower octane than recommended.

I read this blog post a while back and it explains things very well. The main point is....

"There is no advantage to going beyond that [recommended octane] level, but there certainly is a disadvantage to going below the recommended number. The focus, instead, should be on using a quality fuel brand ."

I couldn't agree more. You are way better off using top-tier 87 octane gas than lower grade 89 octane.

I agree 100%, the 2.5 is great but in the past I've posted about picking up bad gas while on long road trips, you can see hear and experience poor gas milage.
