Not sure if they already got mention in the thread but rav4's always seem to be driven by the hugest douchbags. And crv's too. They are both so cheap everyone has one and drives like an ass.

I drove a Rav4!

The truth is, I had twins - and got rid of my 3 Series for the Rav.
Needed the room for that double stroller and all the other oversized baby items that had to be purchased in twos; swings, bouncers, high chairs.
Can't bring that stuff home in the trunk of a BMW.
All the car mags called the Rav (previous gen.) the least trucky, and best handling of the small utes. - sometimes one must do what one must do...

the 1st VW New Bug (saw new one with turbo yesterday...very nice)
Geo Tracker/ Suzuki anything
F-150 Harley editions (why the fuck would Harley endorse a reck you can't fit a Harley in the back of?!?!)
Most loathsome vehicle of all time? PT Cruiser. They come standard with Herpes.

Any Prius on the freeway doing 65 in the fast lane, any car really but especially a Prius.

Yes!! I f**king hate Prius. Always doing 60 in fast lane, where normal traffic flow is 70+. They never bother to move over to let you pass.

Also, I hate All Toyotas. Camry, Corolla, Rav 4 and so forth. Always driving slow in the fast lane and never bother to let you pass. :mad0259:

I thought this was about ugly/stupid cars. LMAO at everyone complaining about cars they personally feel "serve no purpose".

It's America, if you can afford it, and pay for it, I could give a crap less if you buy a H1 and use it to get a gallon of milk at the store.

Personally, the Prius makes me the maddest.....it's a good way to tell just how clueless the driver is though. Prius is a HUGE "I'm a douche" sign. Up until the current production, those stupid things actually caused more damage to the environment than any other car. They finally stopped using nickel based batteries in those dumb things (nickel strip mined out of Canada, shipped to Europe ,then shipped to China for assembly in battery, then shipped to Japan for install, then shipped to the US for sale.....awesome.)

Any car that "plugs" in. Retarded.....another huge "I'm a huge douche" sign there. Where do these idiots think electricity COMES from??? And here in CA we have a crappy electric grid and pay through the #!^*& for electricity because they refuse to build new plants or go nuclear to keep up with demand. So it's a BRILLIANT idea to add a huge new load of electricity needs onto it.

Finally, the SMART. Anything but. See these morons cruising around on the freeway at 70MPH, secure in their "5 star crash test" rated car (go-kart). Yeah, read the fine print moron, crash test rating is based on impact with SIMILAR SIZED AND WEIGHT CAR. Great, if you hit another SMART, you might live.......when a Camry plows into you, well, hope you had a good life.

There will be a group of douchebags for any car on the road- yes, even VW.

If there was a car that would ruffle my feathers a bit, it would be the PT Cruiser with the flame decals. As if making a statement driving a PT around town wasn't enough, you have flames to make it look more bad-ass. Ugh.

Escalades and worst yet - the Escalade pick up raise my blood pressure.
A luxury pick up truck. :mad0259::confused::barf:

Yeah, I see your Escalade truck-combo and raise you the Avalanche. Had a coworker with one of those with a HUUUGE Harley sticker on the window. Her demeanor and conversation pretty much epitomizes every Avalanche driver I've ever encountered on the road: butch, saggy, and very narcissistic. Take note the next time you pass an Avalanche; dollars to donuts it will be from the right.

It's America, if you can afford it, and pay for it, I could give a crap less if you buy a H1 and use it to get a gallon of milk at the store.

I'm with you on this one, that said if one require >4 pistons and >4k lbs to move around, the caveats are:

* Stay the hell out of the left lane. Particularly if it is >3 tons and has stick-figure cartoons on the back.

* Learn how to parallel park. Hell, we'll accept learn how to park in a damn parking lot.

* One should have a coke, a seat, and a smile whenever any fuel related discussion arises. If you're driving an H1 (or really anything that gets less than 20 mpg) the surest way to look like an asshole is to complain about the price of gas.

You're really not going to like the future that much.

Scion tcs especially when a guy is driving them and they are all modded up. If it's a girl driving it stock, then I'm cool with them.

Word to that. Usually guys who drive tCs have more product in their hair than the women who do.

:D we'll see.

The fact is there are so MANY things that electricity can NOT do that until EVERYTHING goes nuclear (wonder how they would tune a Fission-Fusion-Fission reactor for top speed LOL) or brand new useful technology is invented, there is no way fuel is going away. And as long as SOMEONE needs it, we will all have access to it. Despite the fearmongering we are not set to run out of fuel in my lifetime. It will just come down to the price, which is heavily affected by the various world governments, private investors, and fear profiteers and their own agendas.

Electric motors will never be able to power four things that are the backbone of EVERY world economy.

1) trains
2) trucks
3) airplanes
4) Cargo ships

Truthfully, in 100 years the kids of the day will be learning in their history books about the "fad" of electric and hybrid cars. Right up there with the brilliant ideas of running cars on E85 (corn, it's food people, look it up. People starve and we cruise main street burning corn. Awesome. LOL ) and hydrogen (made from water, we're back to burning a vital life sustaining commodity for joy rides.).

None of the fuel scares and 'green' threats in the past 20 years have done ANYTHING to squelch the availability of hot performance cars. 10 years ago Chevy made the Camaro SS with a 350cid V8, it put out 305 horsepower and got 31MPG (with the 6 speed manual). What's the new Camaro SS put out, over 400 horsepower? We have a whole new line of muscle cars with the Challenger coming back. Every years cars get more and more powerful, they are able to squeeze MPG out of lighter materials and construction but the power is never made to suffer.

I think we'll be fine. :D

You may wish to revisit this list; (1) electric trains are an old and established technology, (2) instant torque on-demand lends electric motor applications to trucking, (3) Helios meet Thumper, Thumper Helios, and (4) while not necessarily electric per se (nor a cargo ship) Nimitz class carriers (and a variety of other very large warships/subs) dropped fossil fuels generations ago.

Far be it for me to question GM's product decisions (I'll let my W-2 do the talking regarding their strategic judgments.) It should be noted that this generation Mustang's GT posts similar mileage to previous gen's V6 (while, naturally, exceeding the performance capabilities of the previous gen's 5.0.) Point being that auto companies wishing to thrive will need to make continuous improvements to internal combustion engines, particularly to efficiency, or live on the dole/go bankrupt (again.)

I, for one, welcome developments in diesel, hybrid, and electric drive trains, and appreciate motorists/consumers that put their money on the line to help automakers make improvements (particularly if the Insight/Prius stays in the right lanes.) I assembled an electric bike a couple years back, and that thing is a freakin blast. You'd be surprised how fast/far one can go with only $0.25 of juice. I'm sure some of our mechanical engineers may take issue with this, but I believe any future improvements to ICE engines or chassis will be purely modest, incremental improvements. Battery chemistries and other drive-trains have a long way to go to be scalable, preferable options, but there is more light down those tunnels.

As to 'peak oil'; I'd like to share your optimism regarding our remaining available stocks, and I do share your scorn for E85. Even if we had ample supply for the 6.9 billion people, remember 1) the vast majority of people don't consumer fossil fuels at a pace that you or I do [ramification being that when they do, a gallon of gas is going to be pretty challenging to purchase if you work for a living] and 2) at the end of next month, there won't be 6.9 billion people. The world needs options; continuing to read from the same script is a very dangerous path.
