WTB: few accessories/mods for MK6 GTI

Hey guys! just became a new owner of a MK6 GTI.

I want to do some mods and find some accessories to pimp my ride. if anyone is close or willing to meet halfway or ship to the Atlanta area that would be great! Used parts are more than welcome as I am trying to save some money!

List of things that would help pimp my ride:

* monster mats
* RCD330 Noname: 6RD 035 187B; with android auto
* cold air intake
* LED Tail lights
* R8 Coils
* Short shifter
* Sway bay

Welcome to the club! Judging by your username, you got yourself a '12? It'll be in your best interests to confirm whether or not you have an updated revision of the timing chain tensioner. GTIs made from '10 to early/mid '12 had faulty units that were unpredictable.

Make sure you become a member of the "MK6 VW Driver's Group - Classifieds" page on Facebook, if you haven't already. Plenty of used parts there that don't get posted here.

I’m about 65% into my build goal right now and I’ve made it a point to myself to buy all my parts used, but to get high quality stuff. I highly recommend it, as my build has been extremely cheap and quite awesome so far. Plus I get to support the local community which is always good.

If you can do the labor yourself, you will save a massive amount of money in combination with used parts. Good luck and welcome (y)

how can you tell if you have the updated version of the timing chain tensioner? Was there a factory recall for the issue? thanks for the info

All you need to know is in these videos. There's a class-action lawsuit for the tensioner that you may or may not qualify for. But to my understanding, it doesn't cover cost for preventative maintenance, it only covers cost after the part fails.

Well they are brand new, never used and high quality, and still in the original box. Really I'm looking to get back what I got them for, so I would say somewhere around $550 + shipping.
