Car stalling while driving
So just the other day I was driving down the street on my way to work when my car all of a sudden lost power for a second and the regained power at first I thought I was dreaming was half a sleep but then it did it again steering wheel locks for a second and the reengages and the radio shuts off and turns back on literally lose power for a second than it did it again and all the lights on my dash came on took it to a shop where Iíve taking it before they work on German cars and they had my car for 3 days changed the camshaft sensor still continues with same issue I am apr stage 2 someone told me it might be an issue with the tune not sure so tomorrow taking it to the dealer see what they say they told me it might take up to 5 hours to diagnose the issue at $140 an hour.

Mine turned out to be carbon build up and I spent 1k on it. Also took the mechanic a long time to diagnose.

I had similar symptoms when I first bought my '12 gti, before it was tuned. At first it would turn off for a second like yours, eventually it shut off and would not start again. Turned out to be an electrical relay. It took a specialist flying in from Germany to determine that. Had it replace under warranty and have never had an issue since.
